Posts: 2091 Location: Stevens Point, WI | Did anyone get out before the squall line of storms today? I was going to head up north but it would have been suicide in my Lakeland. I probably missed a good bite and will pay for it tomorrow when I head up Rhinelander way.....post nasty front of course!!

Posts: 32958 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | Was absolutely a mess here for awhile, wind and rain and electricity. Big rains. The wind is now at 13 MPH out of the West. Temps are going to be lower, with high pressure moving in. Sounds lke a classic cold front to me!!

Posts: 21 Location: Metro, MN | I headed up to Mille Lacs and only lasted about 1.5 hours. It didn't rain on me, but the swells were intense. Then, I hit bottom a couple times so there went a tank of gas (truck). I tried Isle Bay and Wahkon, but I think next time I'll go to the north end and drift east.

| fishing Madison today it was interesting. the steady pre-front winds blowing against the inlet current on Waubesa made for roiling waves and swirling eddies. perfect! moved a couple fish right in the mix of it. the thunderstorm that moved through in the early evening brought up enough wind that it chased us off Monona and over to smaller Wingra - just in time to get absolutely downpour dumped on for about 40 minutes. of course, a nice fish blew up on a top water right in the middle of the heaviest rain. who knows what these fish are gonna do??? | |||

Posts: 3242 Location: Racine, Wi | I got out for a couple of hours with the pops, but we didn't get it too bad by the time it got to us. There was a steady wind, but not too bad. Then a light rain for about 5 mins. We had 3 fish blow up on topwater, but didn't get hooks into any of them. Did manage about a 20" bass on a topraider.

Posts: 1996 Location: Pelican Lake/Three Lakes Chain | I was guiding on the Three Lakes Chain yesterday, and don't know what the winds were in MPH, I just know they were the strongest I've seen all year. Tried fishing sheltered stuff and it didn't work, checked some windblown structure and the fish were there and active. What a boat control nightmare!! Steve, as I drove by Pelican I remembered our conversation last Tuesday night about big waves and fishing in 3-4 footers. They were there yesterday. That lake was rolling!! Posts: 2089 | This spring , we had a day with winds up to 50mph from the west. The next day was about 25 also from the west.Day 2 was an absolute bonanza on the stuff that had been wind pounded.Fastest muskie fishing I've ever had.The stars and all must have been lined up also.I love wind.Except on the Goon. Posts: 2091 Location: Stevens Point, WI | Today was no picnic either, fished Hancock and another Rhinelander area lake with only one follow and two decent pike. We pounded the wind blown shores, islands and rock bars.
