Greg M called me from the lake in MN this morning.....wound right tight...he had just let a 51.5" swim away.

His personal best!

He said he won't get to a puter till Wednesday probably...so we will have to wait for the pics.

Congrates bud!

Now you will have save some of that mojo for when we are in Bob's Tourney...not the PMTT.

Now tell me how many 50's you've heard caught in MN compared to WI this year? But WI doesn't need 50" size limits...what a joke! I think MN should change their state fish to a muskie and WI should change it to a carp or sturgeon.

Wisconsin is light years behind MN in regards to musky. The Brainerd Chapter of Muskies inc. has 8 fish over 50" this year, all from MN waters, in fact the same lake! We need more musky lakes period! Congrats to Greg M though. I have seen him on the water this year beating it to froth, he deserves it!

Way to go Greg!!!!!!!

If you don't mind me asking, was that a Vermilion fish or a Cass Lake fish? Regardless, both of those lakes are 100 times larger than your average WI lake.... so you just can't say that the larger size limits in MN is why there seem to be so many more big fish caught there. Certainly doesn't hurt... but????

For example, when Green Bay is recognized is a world class fishery (it probably is already) will it be due to the 50 inch size limit or its massive size and forage base? I highly doubt it will be due to the size limit.

Congrats again to GregM (when he returns to a computer). Don't matter where you catch a 50+... its still an awesome accomplishment.

Congrates to you as well Jason.....maybe you don't beleive in self promotion....so I will do it for you....he caught a 51.5" last weekend...his personal best too....guess where?....

I agree, it doesn't mean an ounce less if you catch a big one some place other then WI.

I think you should post your pics.

Congratulations to Greg - he certainly deserves it! Greg is a great guy and dedicated muskie hunter and also the first guy on this site to offer up an empty seat in his boat to take me fishing! We hit the water hard for a couple of days (he nailed a sub 40) and he even put me up at his place. I wish I could have been his net b**ch for that trophy fish! What a monster! Way to go buddy!

Thanks Joe!

Yes, I'm still on cloud nine from last weekend. Its not often you AND your wife catch a personal best on the same trip. Lots of celebrating going on (heh heh) but little "self promotion". As for posting pics... well... I'll save this thread for GREG.

Can't wait to hear the full story right from Greg.... and pics of course.

jlong

P.S. I believe MRoberts will have some stories to tell about last weekend as well.

YEAH BABY!

Bout time Mr. Morse! Self promotion heck yeah you deserve it.

I heard he got a hot tip on the lake.

HMOG's little sister? Hell of a fish Morsedaddy! Kly saw it all I bet.

I'll try to get his digitals later tonight but that would mean coming back from the 50" celabration!!

Mn was good for everyone this past week I guess. Wife and I had a good three days ending yesterday. Joe, it is not totally related to size limits in MN9very little is related to it), in fact most of the lakes putting out the biggees are 40" limit lakes. It has a lot to do with the strain and the fact that many of these lakes are just reaching their peak which historically has been the time to get the big ones. Nice to have 20-100,000 acre ponds waiting for me over there too, which WI just does not have.

Later,

J

Just for the record not all the 50 plus fish reported by the Brainerd Chapter were from one lake. In fact its at least 3.
