Heading up to Big V and need to know what's working for musky. What's the lake like, where are people finding fish, what types of baits and what colors to use. We're a pretty new group of musky fisherman and haven't spent much time on Vermilion. Last year in early September we found a few fish in weeds and rocky points mostly. Are bucktails becoming less effective, should we fish near open water or work weeds, islands and points? Anything to help - thanks.

Does the wind only let up for it to rain? Spent 12 days up there and one calm day, except for when it rained. Wind was moslty upwards of 25. Not fun when the kids are in the boat.

Did the rustys eat all the weeds? Could find very little on the east end except everett bay. No weeds where the maps said they were but plenty of rustys in their place.

Nice lake though, hope the weather is better next time we go.
