| OK I know it goes against my religion, but I have to confess my fishing this fall although really decent production wise, got a little too predictable...
Maybe if I'd had just one day when the fish were really turned on and the unexpected happened over and over it would have been enough but alas, NOT.
I am contemplating trolling as something new to keep the interest up, and at this stage JUST contemplating the idea. However, if I did go ahead and flake out and do this what would your idea of the ideal "all water" trolling outfit be??
Boat 3-4 anglers, any water in US or Canada
Motor(boat needs to go at LEAST 40-45 top)
Kicker Motor
Electronics(fish detection)
electric motor
rod holders
rods
planer boards?
down riggers
bait setups for multiple baits(10 line rig)
baits used in multiple setups , ie stalkers tuff shad etc.
can you guys agree on a rig that would be considered solid by all?
and I aint spending more than 30 on the whole rig?????

| Oh and if somebody only has one thing they like on their whole boat, feel free to recommend it even if the rest of your rig sucks the hind @#%^. |

| Firstsixfeet, my setup is not that elaborate since I only troll with four rods and usually only two in the boat. For rod holders I love my scotty's. They work great and are fast and easy to use, as well as strong. I use church tackle planer boards which used to be mr. walleye boards when he endorsed them. They are much easier to take on and off than an offshore board. I don't set my boards up to release. The fish pulls on the drag and the klicker goes off. With a 10 bait setup you may want bigger boards and a mast setup. I use linecounter reels and I like my okuma line counters. I have the smaller ones but again, with ten baits you may want bigger reels. I have a 60hp merc and I can get it down to just over 1mph on my 16ft. boat. For baits I like bagley monster shads, rapalas, ukko wobblers, luhr-jenson javelins, mann's-8,7" straight shallow raiders, depth raider and ernies. Those are the ones I troll with the most. Hope this helps. |
