Posts: 32958 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | How did you do in pursuit of the Muskie this weekend? Sue and I had a great trip to the Goon multi-specie angling, and headed home early this morning. The muskies were everywhere, and we saw some really nice fish, but only got a few to go and boated only two. That's why it's called fishing, not catching, I guess! I'll have a couple days at the Outing to redeem myself, we will see how that goes!

Posts: 3242 Location: Racine, Wi | I had a great weekend. I got out with my brother and little Tuffy on Friday night. Trolled for 3 hours to no avail. Figured, we need to cast. 1st spot, my brother sticks his first of the year. A nice fat 40.5. The next spot, Tuffy looses one within 3 casts on the spot. Then the moon came up, and the fish shut down. On Sunday, my nephew asked me if I could take him musky fishing. So we went out for an hour or so, and first spot, had a mid 30 try to kamakazi my Weagle. Didn't stick it though. We then went to another spot and 1 cast later my 12 year old nephew sticks a 36" tiger on a Hawg Wobbler. His first musky ever, and in 15 mins of musky fishing. (I explained, it isn't always that easy.) That in itself is what it is all about. Anybody that hasn't stuck one yet, the musky sled seems to get the skunk out of the boat for people. That is 3 first fish of the year for others. Pretty cool. So I had a great weeked. I will post pics tonight, as we just got the puter set up at home. Edited by tuffy1 7/12/2004 8:53 AM

Posts: 285 | Cass Lake area is hot. Phisk Killer and I wached about a dozen follows, along a reed line next to deep water on Lake X. At least 2 fish were 50 + but we need to learn to fish better because we landed nothing. Mike Hulbert boated a 52 the next morning on a pacemaker, same reed line. It is possible that we saw that fish, as all the fish there were pretty aggressive and hot for topwaters. Hoepfully Mike will manage to get online at the Shady lodge and post a photo. PK and I were already driving home when we got a call informing us that we are idiots for not sticking around for a little while sunday. Later. papa joe

Posts: 1245 Location: Madtown, WI | Was on Eagle lake in Canada last week....tough conditions. We got a few small fish and blew a couple nice fish. But I got this 52 incher at ~3:45 friday afternoon....nothing like waiting till the end of the trip! Hit at the end of the cast and put up a monster fight! Fish hit a 700 series buckertail. Stayed at Andy Meyers Lodge again, Herbie runs one heck of a camp!!! Cory Attachments ---------------- dad me 52 .JPG (42KB - 122 downloads)

Posts: 419 Location: Appleton, WI | Awesome fish Todd, Cory and Norm!!! Looks like you've been picking up my slack. Cory congrats on a real beauty. Man, you keep popping fish like that every year on Eagle, you're going to have and entourage following you around the lake. Norm that's a real fat mother. Looks like you picked up right where you left off last year. Looking forward for some more big fish pictures in a week or so. I also want to congratulate Mike Hulbert on a biggie also. Can't wait to see the pictures. catch ya later, Krappie

Posts: 1245 Location: Madtown, WI | Thanks Guys...That fish meant a lot to me since I have had a pretty tough year prior to that fish and I had my dad and Finacee in the boat with me. I have had some great teachers on Eagle lake, Donnie Hunt and Craig Eversoll have taught me a lot and I thank them for giving me the tools to get lucky enough to catch a fish like that. Two years and two 52 inchers...I am going to make it my best to get a three-pete!! Hey Norm, I would LOVE to hold a WI fatty like that! Awesome! Cory

We got a lot of footage and when I got home to look at it there was no footage on the camera!! Somehow the recorder didn't record(lights were showing record, but nothing)!!!! At least I did get the stills though.... Congrats on you personal biggest!!! Cory ps. Thanks Jlong...was a special time indeed!

I just got a voice messege from Shady on Monday AM telling us that Mike got a big girl. Lot's of big fish up there.
