Location: oswego, il | I just thought i would throw this out there for your thoughts. I personally net them asap, sometimes they are quite green, actually most of the time they are. What do you people think is better, play the fish a bit more then net or net right away? The greener the fish in the net, the more time it takes to unhook the fish, the more it spins and tangles itself and the lure in the net. I have had fish spin and tangle the net and their head gets hooked near the top of the net and their head is out of the water. A more tired fish will submit better to handling and unhooking. What do you all think? |

Location: Northern IL | The only time I net a fish is if deserves a picture. The time it takes to untangle a small fish just isn't worth it. Just clip it off and get back after her big sister! |

Location: MN | I'll net the bigger fish ASAP as well. With the new nets out, there are minimal tangles. All smaller ones are handled by hand and let go! |
