The Wisconsin Muskie Tour's Lake Mohawksin tournament on June 19 is full and we are now starting a waiting list. If you want to be included on the waiting list please log on to the WMT's web site at www.WMTseries.com and go to the message board to include yourself.

The following muskie tournament for the WMT will be on June 20 at Lake Wausau. With a feild of 60 teams the first place pay out will be $10,000 and if a team should catch a 50" or larger muskie, an extra $9,000 could be earned by a team who broke the 50 inch mark.

More WMT tournaments are sure to fill in the near future. If you are interested in fishing the WMT please get in soon to guarantee your spot. Other tournaments for the WMT are: Lake Minocqua/ Lake Kawaguesaga on July 10, Boom Lake in Rhinelander on August 21, Pelican Lake on August 22, the Manitowish Chain on August 28 and 29, and the final qualifier on the Eagle River Chain on September 11 and 12.

All winners of each qualifier are automatically qualified for the WMT's Invitational Championship with a chance to win two $32,000 Ranger Boats Heckel's Marina and over $100,000 in cash and prizes.

Does that count for all tournaments throughout the season??

This is a $10 pot per event that grows through every event and from year to year, I believe this is about a 2 year pot. Once a 50" is caught it will restart.

Dan is absolutely correct. At each and every tournament when you register, you have the option to get in to the 50" pot for $10 for the team. The first team to register a 50" muskie will get what is in the pot and then we will start it all over again.

We started the 50" pot at the WMT's Championship, at the last weekend of September in 2002, and it has continued to roll over and now there is a great deal of money in the kitty. This was a great idea and I wish that I could take credit for it but Dave Stewart was the man who came up with the idea and it sounded good to us so we went with it.

Sooner or later someone is going to connect on a large fish and that could meen $20,000 plus in a one day tournament if you also win the event or $30,000 plus in a two day event.

Thanks,

Tom McInnis
