Posts: 20219 Location: oswego, il | Steve, with the success you had last year, you have to ask? I would look at one of those lesser fished shield lakes in western ontario.

Posts: 148 Location: DES MOINES, IOWA | That sucks. One of the most guarded Musky secrets just went out for everyone to see.I suppose all of the Minnesota and Wisconsin people will be pouring down here, now to fish for all of those farm pond grown 50 inchers.

Posts: 2753 Location: Mauston, Wisconsin | I'm with Todd M, Western Ontario is awesome - flyin's to lesser known waters are terrific, usually very low pressured waters and a real chance at WR class fish. But there are also some pretty good spot's throughout Ontario and Eastern Canada and yes also some hog's here in the USA. I guess you should go where your heart tells you. I look at it as life is a roll of the dice. It might be your last so make it worth while. Have fun

Posts: 1430 Location: Eastern Ontario | I'd stay right here. Some of us are blessed to have 2 of the best 3 muskie waters in the world within 1.5 hours driving time. Big muskies on a weekly bases is fun, I am spoiled.

What's big? 54" with a 20" girth? or a 51" with a 30" girth? Combine the two and get a 54" x 30" That would be big. Hope I can find her... That said. Mille Lacs hands down for me. Scenery? no. Big fish? Yes.

Cady's right! You could fly into a remote Canada lake or drive up a Lac Suel but your odds on Mille Lacs are better for hooking up with the big guy.

Posts: 910 Location: Hastings, mn, 55033 | self guided would be mille lacs, or maybe cass ( i know there are some big girls in there suspended over that DEEP water). if it was a guided week long trip, i would be at georgian bay hands down. mille lacs is great (i fish it more than anywhere else) and have better odds of getting into fish there, but georgian bays giants just cant be matched. i have no doubt the next world record will come from there.

Hard to argue w/ any of the above. We might all be surprised when that big river monster comes up and bites us......may need to get my SCUBA gear on and spear one down deep though.......
