Posts: 199 Location: Anchorage | After a slow hour in the boat today, my buddy and I got wondering, when was the last time anyone had a muskie doubleheader? Completely curiosity, but if anyone has I'm sure I'm not the only one that might be interested, seeing how much effort is put into one fish at a time. Anyhow, Thanks. Posts: 2691 Location: Pewaukee, Wisconsin | Woody, my brother and I got a double the 2nd of May, 2004 Greg set the hook on a 37 1/2-inch muskie and brought it to the boat, I netted it and reached for the tape to get a estimate of length, my sucker rod that was left in went off and I set the hooks into a 38 3/4-inch muskie was netted with the other muskie still in the net. Two muskies in the same net, not much we could do, it happened so fast. I don't have the pictures on my work computer but they are on my web sites home page. Click on the link below.

Last fall October 25, my wife and I caught a 53 and a mid 40 incher trolling on LOTW, it was absolute mayhem getting those two to the boat!

Posts: 132 Location: Kawarthas, Ontario | I've had three double-headers over the past 5 seasons. Thankfully, I've landed 5 of those 6 fish too. Back in 2001, I actually almost had a triple header... had a double on, and a third fish hit, but didn't hook-up. (I'm still convinced that the third fish that missed was likely a big walleye.) The best (my second double) was a test day I was doing with the host of a perspective new TV show who wanted to shoot a possible pilot with me. I think his intention was to come out and see if I really knew what I was talking about/doing. I told him about a rather significant inside turn on one particular weed edge, and that this spot was a consistent producer of good-sized muskies. I called the exact spot when we arrived there (my imitation of Babe Ruth), and within 45 seconds the drag sounded to indicate that a solid fish was on the port side rod. Off-balance, I grabbed the starboard rod to clear it and a second fish nearly ripped the rod right out of my hand. We ended up landing 41 and 41 1/2" muskies. Needless to say, he was pretty impressed. After that one, I now carry a back-up landing tool on my boat. My primary tool is a big Beckman Finsaver Magnum Pen, but I also carry a gaff and a Boga just in case. (Always be prepared!)
