Clothing is the best sunscreen.

I always keep my shirt on and a fully brimmed "fishing" hat on my head. It helps with seeing follows too.

Check out (don't laugh) Avon "skin so soft" They have it in a pump, cream or aerosol spray. It is a great bug repellant (its main function, and works good), waterproof and available Unscented and 30 SPF! Can't ask for more.

Banana Boat SPF 45. Doesn't seem to attract bees like some stuff I have used.. Never have broke-out from using it like some other stuff I used that wasn't supposed to cause breakouts of acne...

I'm out there getting baked all the time and I use Coppertone Sport 30, it's sweatproof, non slip and waterproof. I still apply it at least 3 times a day to make sure I don't get burned. I also make sure to wear white T-Shirts on sunny days as it helps keeping me cool as I find dark shirts attract the sun and heat.

Austrailian Gold seems to be the best I can find.

I'm w/ Richard on this one. Coppertone Sport series sunscreens (at least SPF 30, sometimes 48). The 48 can seem a bit greasy when first applied, but after a few minutes I barely notice it; besides, I usually only use the 48 on my face and ears. Stuff stays on good too. At these higher elevations (about 4900 ft.), it's pretty important.

Bull Frog brand...high sun on the east coast, stuff works great; no peaceful, greasey feeling, no bite, no burn...

Yup, Bullfrog for me too... SPF 36 and the gell dries quickly with little to no residue and none of that white greasy feeling...

I've always heard that the scent of sunscreen turns the fish off. Any truth to that?

Skin-so-soft or copertone sport. Haven't found that the scent turns off fish, but I do use P & P sportsman's or marine solution on my hands after applying the sunscreen. That stuff takes off ALL odors, especially oil, gas, and fish slime. Works great on blood too.

Howdy Howie! Fine so far; only 'cause Spongette knows me life insurance is going to a local zoo if I expire by her hands. I gave up long days in the sun on a board quite a few years back; too many peeps getting fried and getting spots gouged by the dermos. I make triple dog sure I slather the stuff on now. Here at the house I am on god status...I get a burnt offering every night for dinner!

***On a serious note, DO WEAR the stuff- not worth the chance...

i have 2 questions. has anyone tried the new sunscreen wipes? i wonder if they're any good. when fishing alone its hard to apply sunscreen on your back and shoulders, thought maybe the wipes would be a little easier. also, where to you get the p and p wash stuff or the other kind mentioned?
