| Hi guys,
The muskies are jumping on the Wingra spillway right now. I saw a 36 incher and a 24 incher on the platform at the same time, each there for about 45 minutes. The 24 incher crawled on its belly to within about 10 feet of Wingra before giving up and being washed down. The fish had to lay on its side to get water over its gills. The 36 incher made it up about about 50 feet past the falls before giving up. After both these fish washed back down, a different fish cleared the falls 2 minutes later. There were another 3 or 4 musloes "taxi-ing on the runway" below the falls. It's raining now, so tomorrow should be better. It's really starting to pick up at Wingra.
The warm water discharge on Monona hasn't been as good the last few days, although I wasn't there today. The DNR put a trap there yesterday, and the water has more of an algae stain now. The most I've seen was about a week ago, when I saw 22 muskies all at the same time. I have not seen the big 53 incher that was in there last year.
Charging the camcorder batteries for tomorrow's trip to Wingra,
