The weather has been fantastic, the swimming great, food incredible, and we still have most of the trip left! We are heading out for billfish and Tuna Thursday, and to the Mayan ruins Wednesday. Sue's having a blast. She figures we should have been here earlier, and she wants to stay alot longer!

Slamr and Mark, thanks for watching the 'store' while we are away. I will check back in after fishing Thursday, hopefully with a great report!

Steve, no pictures? I wanted to see what you looked like with bermuda shorts, black socks with sandals holding a metal detector. Have a great rest of the trip, catch some nice fish.

Hey Sponge, don't forget the Mexican Payday candybars. They are the same as the ones up here except that they have tiny bits of peppers mixed in!
And Steve, do Fitantte & Lax make reproductions of billfish?

Speaking of peppers, grab a paper sack and check out the Water Treatment Plant down there for fresh jalapenos; we get the best tomatoes I ever tasted at the plant here; suckers grow everywhere and are free!

Well, we blew off the fishing day because of high seas and winds over 30 MPH. The waves would have been about 7 to 10', a bit too high for us tio enjoy the day. We were at the ruins yesterday and had a great time! Pictures, without fish, later! Sponger, you would like this place.

He fished, he just did not want to admit it. Fishing open water for marlin with a jig and creature is an impossible task.....

We had a great trip. We didn't get out fishing because of the high wind and seas, but went snorkeling and on a tour of the jungle around the area, was a blast. Snorkeling the coral reefs was great. Lobsters everywhere, and fish colors one can only imagine! We went on an exploratory trip, finding Mangrove Snappers, Grunts, and all sorts of shallow water good eaters. Next time, we will do some flats style angling while in the area.

All in all, a very relaxing week off, and most importantly, Sue had a VERY good time.

Welcome home, Padre!

I used to look for snappers when I was in Germany! Found quite a few, too! Ah, memories! hehehe

This is one half the view from my Royal Islander Villa. Sue and I had coffee every morning on the balcony watching the surf roll in. The second shot is from the other side of the Villa, showing the Lagoon on the west side of the Island.

I already want to go back myself!!! Though the seas were rough when we were there(25-35mph) we had to go fishing, as we may never do it again. Glad we did, and glad we took the dramamine.Which ruins did you see? Chicten izta? Or Tulum?

We went to Chichen Itza the day we should have gone fishing. It was calm, and therefore VERY hot. I have been there a few times. Jim, Tina, and Sue had a great time despite the heat. Here is a shot of the Observatory, and one of the Pyramid.

Here is one of Sue and me at Chichen Itza, another view from the Villa, and a picture of Sue at one of the stops on a tour into the ruins.

Cool pics dude, now you need to start a "Hello From Home" post...fell off one of those pyramid things once, just before the Spongette drew the knife to tag me as a sacrifice to the dummy god Stupider. Glad you guys had a fun time. I always dreaded coming back to reality, and am still making the trip...
