Location: St Cloud, MN | Anybody have any good ideas for a casting platform in the back of my boat. i have a '93 Lund angler ss. my fishing partners complain that there isn't any elevated area to stand back there. i know what it is like as i have had to be in the back of other boats with the same setup. just looking for some input.

| I thought about making a plug to make a locker and a deck for my 620 ranger. My idea is to make a mold for the locker and a platform mold also. Then put gas shocks on the platform and some flush mount handles that i can take the locker in our out as needed. The locker would act as storage for life vests and ropes . For the guy with a million baits would make one hell of a tackle box. For the alcoholic a great cooler.I can build anything in fiberglass but i am not a pattern maker. If you had a good woodworker that can make the plug I could make the molds and the parts. Let me know if your interested. Cost might be alittle high for the first one but if you had a buddy or two it would be worth while. Carpeting would be yours. I haven't layed anything in awhile. |

Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | My son built me one for my Patriot 1690 that is really nice, and acts as storage and an elevated platform. He used treated 3/8 and treated 2X2 material, carpeted it, and attached it permanently to the splashwell. Looks and works great! |

Location: Chicago, Beverly | I have a 16' Rampage that has a rear casting deck on a hinge. That way it is a little easier to get to the stuff under it. I think it was done at the factory but am sure you could rig something similar. |

Location: Northwest Chicago Burbs | Tell your friends who complain to either get their own boats, or go to the local lumber yard or hardware store with you and get to work!
Me and my father put decks into our old boat....its really easy just time consuming. All you need is marine plywood, some carpet and creativity!

| It is really easy to do if i can do it. Mine is a architectual mystery but works great and withstands alot of jumping on it. I have it on the rear of my 17ft esox deep v. |
