Subject: Fishing Questions???

1000 acre impoundment, max depth 22 ft, average depth 12 ft. Main forage redhorse suckers, crappie, and carp. Water temp Saturday 46 degrees. Where are the fish?? What do the suckers do in late fall? Do they go deep, run up stream, or stay in the dead weeds? Crappie, where are they in late fall? The water temp is dropping rapidly this week, by friday were talking high thirties. I haven't been fishing, but some decent fisherman that know the lake are struggling to connect, any ideas.
Thanks,
MuskyDan

Work the steep breaks if any with suckers or jerbaits. Heck troll it too. Look for real quick drops from 10 to 20 if there is any. They are thier, just not in normal locations. Also.. look for windows.. in late fall muskies seem only to be active in very small windows of time.

Hard to help without a lake map for a visual aid.

Dan,
Try and find rock points and step drop offs. Try casting jerkbaits or twitching large cranks. Also try casting bulldawgs with a slow retrieve. Best of luck and tight lines.
