a buddy sent me this - sounds like a good chance to go look at some beasts!


I went down to the Blount Plant's Water In/Outtake structure on Lake
Monona. We counted at least 6 muskies - probably more, but I am not sure
if I was seeing the same muskies doing a loop or if they were new visitors
to the intake. Of those, I would approximate that all were legal; 5 out of
the 6 were over 40"; and 1 was close to 50". Swimming side by side with
the muskie were 15+ Carp that were in the 15 - 30lb range. Did not see any
gar or sturgeon. The water is really clear so you can see pretty well.

I check them out every year. Last year there was a BIG GIRL that had three scratches on her back. Several people saw her over a couple days....guesses at size were all around the 53" mark....she was a beaut!!!

BUT, the Madison chain doesn't have any nice muskies in it so might as well head elsewhere!
