I still use Berkley Ultra-Max. I was fortunate to buy a 1000yd. spool of 60# and a bunch of 50yd. 40# spools at a liquidator.

Location: Chicago, Beverly | I like the "Old Fashioned" Musky Master. I like the way Jerk Baits work with it. I also use Tuff Line in 65lbs test. I tend to use the Musky Master with the heavier stuff and tuff line with lighter stuff.I will be trying out some sort of new spider wire I got when I signed up for Muskie INC at one of the shows, hopefully its not too disappointing.. I used to use Maxima 40lbs Chameleon Mono for jerk baits and sucker fishing but stopped...no reason really, just ran out of it and never bought it again... |

Location: oswego, il | I use power pro, 65(low profile) 80 and 100lb. It's not my favorite line, tuff line plus is, but does not get me as wet. When it's below freezing out, I want the driest superline I can use. |

| Whiplash, #65 for jigs, bucks, little twictch baits and #80 for everything else. This line was never meant for the faint of heart! Its slippery and slidie and awesome in my opinion and if you are a backlasher don`t use it! I have a dewindling supply and its getting harder to locate now. Do also use Tuffline +, its been good too! |

Location: Racine WI | For decades I used 27# or 36# Muskie Master, and still do on most rigs, but last year I tried Western Filament T.U.F. as my first and only superline. I reasoned that since it was stronger than what I was accustomed to, thirty was fine. I don't have the trouble with backlashes and cutting into the spool that people warned me about, but that's probably because I only use superline on an "ultralight"  muskie rig: I throw light bucktails and bass-sized plugs with a short, but medium-heavy action Lightning Rod. It's a short-butt (come to think of it so am I  ) one-hand pistol grip that feels about weightless compared to my standard tackle. When particularly strange, I take this rig out with an old Topper, baby Hawg Wobbler, or Mud Puppy and row-troll or cast from my little kayak. Some day a big girl is gonna roll me over -- I hope! |

Location: Pelican Lake/Three Lakes Chain | Very curious responses. In a matter of 5 years it seems as if everyone has abandoned classic monos. I used to use 50# magnathin (do they still make it?) and switched over to power pro many years ago. Is anyone still casting mono? |

Location: Florence, Wisconsin | NWILD, Yes they still make 50# Magna-thin and I use it and love it. The only place I've seen it is in Jay's Sporting Goods in Gaylord, Michigan. They sell it in 500yd? spools.

Location: Wauwatosa, WI | What I like about power pro 80lb, is that it is a great overall line for heavy and light lures. Some of my friends like 65lb power pro on one rod and 100lb power pro on another. I just like the 80 on both of my rods. It also does ok in freezing temps, but nothing works great since the reels tend to freeze up before I complain about the line.

| I have used Cortland Spectron 80lb and 50lb green and blackspot for years and it works great under all conditions.

Location: oswego, il | I use 80lb power pro mostly but I just bought a new reel and i am going to try the new stren superline. I casted one of my dad's reels with it on there and I really liked it. You cannot even here is going through the guides and was pretty dry. |

Location: St Cloud, MN | why doesn't anyone use anything over 100# test. i have messed with it a little, 200# whiplash & 150# tuff xp. i thought bigger diameter would keep my spool cleaner(my middle name should have been backlash). any thoughts on bigger diameter?
