Location: Racine, Wi | I have to put a new TM on the musky sled. I took the old one off, but the dude who had the sled previous to me just had big old bolts drilled into the wood with no nuts locking them on.
I pulled 2 screws out of the place where the TM goes on the boat thinking that it would allow me to get into the inside, but I can't.
Does anybody know if there is a trick to this? Once I get it open it is all smooth sailing. The piece moves a bit with the screws out, but I can't gain access. Mr. Worall, have any suggestions?
Thanks! |

Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | What year is the boat? Is there a trolling motor block on the deck, carpeted? |

Location: Racine, Wi | It is an 86. There is a TM block on the front, and it is carpeted. I pulled 2 small screws from the front of the block thinking that it would come off, but I can't access the inside of it. It seems looser now, but I still can't get in. I am mounting the quick remove plate on there so once it's lined up, if the block comes off, I can mount it no problem. Just not sure how to get into the block. I don't want to bolt it down like the other guy had it. I don't think it will hold without the nuts on there. |

Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | You need to bolt all the way through the block, right through the 'deck' the block sits on. There are probably some stainless screws holding the block to the deck. Remove the electrical panel to get at the bolts underneath. It takes small hands and maybe a wrench and some tape for the fron bolts, probably. |

Location: Racine, Wi | Thanks Steve. I took a shot at it this weekend, and everything worked out ok. 2 more weeks and she'll get the first shot at the water in in SE WI.
