Check out Chas Martin's Musky Mastery podcast, his guest is Jordan Weeks and they break down and explain the change, how it came about and some science behind the decision. Very in depth, whether you agree or not it's a great listen.

Just a correction, the podcast is called musky therapy but Chas also has it posted to his musky matery YouTube channel.

I sat down and listened to the podcast yesterday quite good and informative. I will say one thing the next world record will be caught where we can fish and keep a fish full of eggs in the spring. And I'm a fan of fishing in the spring with smaller sized Mepps, Rapala's, jig and soft plastics, twitching minnows, and beetle spin. On any given cast you can catch anything from a Perch to a 50 pound Muskie. With few people around.
