Hi all,

Looking at hitting Sugar this weekend, and I've only fished this lake a few times, with zero sightings/luck.

Looking for a little advice, and maybe where to start and focus on. I know its clear lake and best fished with overcast, or night , but just trying to get out for the day. Feel free to PM any advice, I'm not looking for your money spots, just a little advice.

Thanks all
Brian Hoffies

How did you do? Still been pretty warm here in Minnesota.

I thought about chiming in, but hadn't fished Sugar in 30+ years. I caught my first muskie there in 1992 on a new-fangled orange and gold bucktail called a Buchertail. My first and only fish ever registered with MI for some reason. Even back then there was thick milfoil. I was casting from my Alumacraft V14 w/9.9 hp when she ate. My memory was 5-6 full jumps, but this number has possibly increased over time. When she hit the undersized net, the sky turned instantly dark and began to dump truckloads of rain down on me. An epoch moment, she was all of 35".
