I will be. Mostly at night though. It will be interesting with those wind gusts over 30mph in the dark.

Well here in my city in Colorado on Tuesday at was only 65 by Friday it was 97 and 101 yesterday but less then the forecast hi of 102. Today they are calling for 98 and 94 on Sunday but back to the 70's on Monday. Monday can't get here fast enough.
Fishing wise I been going out most every morning for 1 hour and a half up to a half a week ago I was just catching stocker Trout in a pond in my town any where from 8 to 0 most days 5 or 6 all released on Mepps #1's with two of the trebles cut off and the barb pinched down or on Trout magnet jigs. Depending on runoff in the mountains I may take my waders and go on a one day Pike trip.

My "season" ended upon my return from the Northwoods a couple weeks ago.. Water temps topped 80 degrees last week here, the kids have been out of school for a month, and the local boat ramps are a circus.. Add to that air temps in the mid 90s for the next week, and yeah I'm done til the TVA starts pulling down the headwater reservoirs in early August. Then it's on again til next spring.

Meanwhile I'll do an electronics upgrade replace a TM, whip up some bucktails, and tweak on some other baits..

Well, my trolling motor (Ulterra) needs some work, might be a good time to go do some trolling.

I leave for lake Vermilion, MN July 11th to Musky fish for 1 1/2 weeks and plan to fish for them if water temps do not get to high. If water temps do get to high, I will try some night fishing for Muskies and fish for Walleye and Smallmouth through out the day. When I fish alone and I very seldom take muskies out the net, trying my best to put them back the best way I can for their survival. If water temps are to warm even at night, I will leave them alone. I just enjoy my time there, coming up from Mississippi.

Our water temps are pushing but still below 80. Some shallow bays may be a tad warmer. Salt Fork was 75-79 yesterday. CJ Brown was about the same on Tues. With the forecasted 90+ temps over the next week, the water will warm up more if we don't' get some more rain (we're already at +4" for the year). We'll see what next weekend brings...too hot today and tomorrow with 95* for both days and 100+ heat indexes.

I committed my boat to an event for vets this weekend for walleye fishing. 103 peak today. It was brutal.

You travel further than I do for these silly fish. I'm from Arkansas, but grew up in Virginia, MN. I'll be up there the 14th for 5 plus weeks. Smallmouth are a good replacement for muskies, and learning walleyes has been a tasty change of pace for me. Good luck and maybe I'll see you on the water.
