Hello everyone. I am looking at setting up fishing trips for next year and am running into issues finding any musky guides in this area. What I've found:

Active but not necessarily guiding here:

Kevin Cochrane: Bemidji area. Doesn't go as far south as DL
Isaiah Hahn: Park Rapids. Will go over to DL, but not an Otter Tail or Alex guy.

Used to, but not anymore as far as I can tell:

Dave Williamson
Jerry Sondag

Any folks you all know that guide the area? I'm kinda shocked Miltona-Pelican-West Battle-DL have so few people guiding them for musky.

Unfortunately those lakes are not what they used to be. It’s actually pretty crazy the hype that the lakes you mentioned are still getting. You should still fish those lakes if you are interested and find out for yourself by all means. There’s still a few traveling guides around I hear.

Greg Thomas might get over that way. I'm pretty sure he does "Western" MN. Have you tried a google search?

Gregg fishes DL and Pelican for roughly 2-4 weeks in the fall and that is it. Yes, I did a google search. Google is how I found that Dave and Jerry used to guide. Borovsky mentions these lakes on his site but does not guide on them. Given my lack of success on google, I asked here.

I'm not a good musky angler, but this is consistent with my experience on West Battle. That lake kicks my ass, and that's even knowing that I need to get deep. Do you have any idea on who these traveling guides are? I'd like to give them my money.

I'd try Mike Kramer or Ryan McMahan.

not sure if Brad Hoppe is guiding or not? He might be one to try for those lakes. Or Chase Gibson ... another one maybe is Lockjaw Guide service but not sure how much he fishes WB/Miltona lakes...

Thanks everyone, for your input. Here is what I've found for people who guide in the areas I've mentioned. I will include only active names now, but it would feel almost disrespectful to not mention Jerry Sondag and Dave Williamsen, who no longer guide in the area but seemed to be respected by reputation. On to who currently guides in the area. Reach out to them as to their availability on dates, as it varies from guide to guide. The list of confirmed:

Gregg Thomas
Ryan McMahon
Jordan Stokes
Lockjaw (Randin Olson)
Luke Swanson
Mike Kramer
Rob Hulleman

Those who I haven't confirmed whether or not they do yet. If I confirm they do, I will add them:

Chase Gibson
Brad Hoppe
