| I work Big Joes by reeling at medium speed and periodically throwing in a hard crank with a short pause to get the bait to kick sideways. They look great in the water, but thus far, I am 0/12. I've never had a fish on for more than a few seconds.
The bait seems to work a lot like a glider, but it's soft, so the hookup ratio will be even worse. What can I do to actually hook fish with Big Joes? I'm 100% sure that a straight retrieve won't work where I fish. |

Location: Brighton CO. | Sometimes with plastics fish crush hooks into the plastic and you miss them (BullDawgs too) and sometimes deep in the throat.
It helps to set more then once. |

| Use light wire hooks like a Mustad 3551 for better hook penetration and be sure to sharpen them. |
