I looked to see how quickly I could get a Long Ranger and noticed the GRASP reel seat. A search turned up some older threads that indicated most didn’t like it although a few did.

Has anyone changed their mind about it after spending time on the water with it?

Got one last summer, and did not like it. Used again this Spring and liked it even less.
Try the palming grip as shown on Thorne Bros. rods...much better in my opinion. I fished with a couple guides that promote Saint Croix, and they have grasp rods for their clients, however they used the palming grip. It is not horrible, but I don't want to use it...a real step down from the palming grip...
