Posts: 2335 Location: Chisholm, MN | I can’t make it this year unfortunately. Have a blast and ask the DNR for me why they stocked so few Muskies in Minnesota this year.

Posts: 563 Location: deephaven mn | Kirby, it wasn't intentional. They just came up way short of fingerlings. Its fish farming and putting 900,000 fry into rearing ponds dose not guarantee 40,000 will grow to fingerling size. What is needed is other fish farmers to grow muskies in different ponds to inrease chances for success. The last several years there has only been one outside source and they provide an additional 2000 give or take per year. Muskies are harder to capture from ponds as they don't trap net very well and is way more work to sceine net them and fish farmers would rather not put in extra effort. I hope to win the lottery and build two drainable ponds for rearing Muskies.

Is it a restaurant or something? Thanks for the help.

Posts: 41 | Gabe's Neighborhood Bar and Kitchen. 991 Lexington Parkway North. From Fairgrounds: go 1.2 miles East on Como. Take a right on Lexington Parkway and go 0.5 miles South. There is overflow parking in the Deaf School just west of Gabe's Greg Ide Little known Fact: Gabe's was named after Bob Landreville's grandfather.

Posts: 121 Location: Twin Cities Metro | DNR was due to stock about 26000 fingerlings this year in about 30 different water bodies. They were only able to produce about 17000 fingerlings. They stocked 16 lakes fully (including Vermilion and Minnetonka). 5 lakes got only part of their quota of fingerlings. 9 lakes got no stocking this past year. Which lakes were left out was based purely on the priority system established in the long range plan for muskies that is currently being revised. DNR indicated their efforts were severely inhibited by difficult muskie egg-take operations due to the historically late spring of 2023. They are expecting much better conditions this year.
