Posts: 32958 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | Last night I attended a C&R Musky Club meeting to hear Troy Petersen, AKA Mr. Bluegill speak on finessing big panfish through the ice. The seminar was informative, and the crowd very interested in Troy's presentation despite the fact he was talking about panfish! The C&R Musky Club is a very well run organization. If you are in the central to southern Wisconsin area, consider joining. They have several outings during the season which sound like quite a bit of fun. The speaker list for the winter seminars is impressive, too. The web address is: www.crmuskyclub.com 1) Jomusky kicks off the meting 2)Jlong and friends listen to the reports form Club officers 3)Mr. Bluegill tells all! Great seminar. Posts: 1939 Location: Black Creek, WI | Wow, Troy sure knows his stuff and has an OUTSTANDING seminar. Guys were glued to his fish tank watching every move he made to make those jigs wiggle, flutter, etc. Pretty high tech stuff ta boot! He also had some really cool underwater camera video showing how bluegills and crappies respond to different presentations. Lot's of cool tricks were revealed, that's for sure. Color, scent, lure size, weather affects, seasonal affects, etc. were all discussed. Amazing how similar the topics are to MUSKY fishing, thus even the non-icefishermen were interested. I'd highly recommend Troy as a speaker to other Musky Clubs as well. Yes, many musky fishermen are icefishermen too... but just seeing how to apply today's technology to the fishing world, how to study the reactions of fish to certain presentations, etc. are all helpful and applicable to musky fishing. jlong | ||
