Posts: 1275 Location: Stevens Point, Wi. | Going to be wet and brown here in central Wi., but 1 1/2 inches of rain sounds better than a foot and half of snow.

If you folks up there don't want it, we'll certainly take it down here in the Tennessee Valley... It's been bone dry since August. I've been down here 35 years, and had snow on the ground on Christmas three times. This year will not be one of them.

Posts: 1421 Location: Brighton CO. | It's been on the dry side of the Front Range Of Colorado and was out getting stuff for our Christmas Eve party and it was short sleeve weather upper 50's to upper 60's. Tonight rain changing to snow 1-3 inches and it showed snow in my part of town the then the weatherman said if you live in few parts of town where I live problemly nothing?

Meteorologist for Weather Service said Rhinelander has a brown Christmas roughly every 20 years and this will be one. Feel for the hospitality industry, the week between Christmas and New Years is normally a time where they do very well in the North Woods.

Posts: 533 Location: NW WI | Ha! Slip n fall season, I like that. At work we all have to park on an incline, and often our field work takes us to lake homes which also tends to equal inclines. So every first snowfall as a stupid bet we all put $1 into a pot, winner is the first guy to slip and fall in the year, must have 1 witness. Nobody wants to win that bet haha, but every year you can guarantee you get to witness a few hilarious cartoon-esque slip and falls. You've inspired another label. "Slide n Collide Season". The auto shops and towing companies also prefer some snow and ice

Posts: 1292 | Came down to eastern Iowa for Christmas. 54 and rainy here now. Think it's about the same back home in the Cities. The Twin Cities has an historical record of a white Christmas 71% of the time, so it's not super rare to have a brown Christmas. You only have to go a few miles north of the metro, to get a 90+% chance of a white Christmas. But usually when we do have a brown Christmas, it's still pretty cold. We have been struggling to make any ice at all.

This morning there is water next to shore where there was ice yesterday morning. Very strange winter so far. May take the spud and see what ice is left a little further out but not venturing too far out. Guess it is good for folks who struggle with heating costs. And surprisingly, my niece who is a Physician's Assistant in an orthopedic surgeons clinic said yesterday they are still seeing a lot of slip and fall injuries so people are still finding ways to fall down. She just shook her head and shrugged her shoulders when I asked where they are finding ice and snow.
