Posts: 291 Location: Minneapolis | I just got my new Tuffy 1760 with 150 Suzuki. I'm just at the end of the 10 hour break-in. With just me and a 23" pitch prop I got 5500 rpm and 48 mph at WOT. Going to an 18" x 21" prop got the rpm up to 5600 and dropped the max speed to 45 mph. For those of you with 1760s and 150 hp motors, what props are you running? The Suzuki is spec'ed at 5000-6000 max RPM, but all the boat tests have it close to 6000. Thanks. The Tuffy is a big step up from my old Alumacraft Navigator 165! Ordered in April 2022, so it's been a long wait. Attachments ---------------- Tuffy resized smaller.jpg (85KB - 78 downloads)

Posts: 32890 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | You will love that hull, one of the best on the water. If I could be talked back into a Tuffy (nope) that's the boat I'd buy. Suzi props are totally different than Merc, but I have gone through that prop and engine on that hull before, and you currently have the best prop for holeshot/top-end balance at 5500 WOT.

Posts: 19 | As long as the hole shot is still good I'd run the 23. My buddy had the exact boat with Mercury 150 4 Stroke in 2016. That was his top speed as well. Might touch 50 with the wind at your back.

Posts: 7049 Location: Northwest Chicago Burbs | Pretty sure I run a 19" on my Tuffy 1760 GC with a 150hp 4 Stroke Merc. WOT is 5500 RPM and between 43 and 48mph depending on load out (one guy or two) and amount of gas I have in the ride. The closer I get to 48, the more I know I need to go get gas.

Posts: 291 Location: Minneapolis | Was in the boat last night with 3 guys and a half tank of gas. Still hitting 44-45 mph at 5500 RPM WOT. I think I'll stick with the prop. Oh, and my buddy Bob put the first ski in the boat. A 44" on the figure 8. I stuck a monster 22". We saw a couple others quite a bit bigger than the 44".

Posts: 1 | I have a Tuffy 1760 tiller with a Yamaha f90 I'm having trouble finding a good prop. My RPMs are really high can't even run WOT without redlining the motor. I currently have a Solas 4-blade prop with I believe a 19-pitch. Can anybody help me out? The prop that came with the boat fell off due to improper installation and I can't find the information from the previous prop. Good luck out there! kickstart_muskie

I think that's about the best you are going to get out of the boat. And, nice fish!
