Posts: 1415 Location: Brighton CO. | We took a lot of September trips from around 1994- 2004 and did well on pre turn over fish. 17th thru the end of the mouth. Had some bad trips after that where the water got warmer as the week went on. Rising water temps in the fall are the kiss of death. So we started going in early October and did ok. This year it's late October.

Posts: 625 Location: S.W. WI | The day after Labor day may be my favorite day of the year.. Been looking forward to this day since mid June. ...Fishermen's time. Bye-bye clueless pontooners, annoying jet skiers and self centered vacationers. .....mostly gone Edited by Rudedog 9/4/2023 8:52 PM

Posts: 1270 Location: E. Tenn | My season ends upon returning form the Northwoods in early June, and typically resumes in early August, when TVA starts drawing down the headwater lakes, sending mid 40s water downstream. Edited by miket55 9/4/2023 10:22 PM

Posts: 59 | Pretty much only after Labour Day for musky. Limited opportunities and personal preference, for me.

Posts: 644 Location: Duluth | Now is when I really get started. Work and sailing slow down, it's my favorite season pick between musky fishing and the lake runs on a daily basis. It's been a lonnnnng summer.

Posts: 27 | Yep, I like fishing after Labor Day for 2 reasons: 1.) Boat traffic slows way down after Labor Day with colder days and with school starting for the kids. 2.) The fishing generally heats up with muskies being more predictable and "patternable" (If that is a real word lol)

Location: MN | Depends where you are. September is best month in MN IMO. Problem is I’m starting to focus on birds by then.
