I fish Nipigon but only target pike/lakers in the spring, I don't bother fishing walleyes. Nipigon can get really nasty really quick, you definitely need to play the weather, also no hydro charts for the lake so you're going in blind. My Pro Sport 1700 isn't a monster boat by any means but I've spent a night in a random bay when the weather didn't allow me to get back to camp safely. I wouldn't consider that side of the lake to be trophy pike water either, although that being said I've never fished it.

In-Depth Outdoors has done fishing shows from Pasha. Definitely a big fish lake, but like mentioned caution needs to be used.
