Posts: 82 Location: Northwest Chicago Burbs | So I started research some different glidebaits on the market these days. I came across the Chaos Tackle line up. I notice they offer close to 10 glide bait style baits. Is there really that much difference between them to warrant this many? Seems a little extreme. Not saying I don’t have some extreme baits in the box. Tell me if I am out of line by saying that. Is there one model that seems to work better then others? Thanks

Posts: 358 | have you ever looked up the # of types of hammers you can buy? all just tools. sometimes you just need one, sometimes you need to specialize a bit

Posts: 983 | yes all different styles and different actions, shums are different than the kodiaks and those two are all different from the taps. slow and wider glide vs shorter side to side vs very erratic

Posts: 20231 Location: oswego, il | They are all different. Weight, width and length and a tail can affect sink rate, water displacement and travel and action. Some will shimmy, belly roll, while others dart and some work very slow. There are variations in the same bait if they are wood. I personally like a bait glider that shoots with a decent glide. Burst of speed off the turn. Belly roll and shimmy also great with a good pause. I don't care for slow lazy gliders that are hard to keep under water.and ride just sub surface.

Posts: 580 Location: Germantown, WI | I’ve used their whole lineup of gliders, my personal preference is the Kodak round nose.... but all are well made and effective lures as far as I’m concerned!

Posts: 224 Location: Minneapolis, Minnesota | I spent a decent amount of time this spring throwing the Kodiak round nose and got a fish on it. Sinks faster than a hellhound so you can work it pretty deep and is super easy to work. To be honest the action is pretty basic, goes side to side not super far and doesn’t really have any wobble. Obviously it works because I caught a fish on it but I would honestly rather throw a phantom. Granted I’m not a glide bait guy whatsoever so take what I say with a grain of salt. The round nose to me is pretty much a hellhound but a different shape
