Location: Moses Lake, WA | This lure started out as a simple carp imitation, but for the home hobby enthusiast the road to Carpsville is fraught with detours, exits, and off ramps. I seem to have been diverted by all of the above in making this 12" basswood lure with one rattle chamber and plastic lip.

Location: Moses Lake, WA | No particular reason, if I get a little sloppy in cutting the lip slot the 1/8" aluminum is "too floppy" so I'll go with 3/16" lucite. This is just a home hobby so it's not a precision operation. I personally prefer the three position aluminum lips because they give the lure more options for finding an optimal pull position/trolling speed that allows the lures to hunt. I wish all my lures would hunt but that's just not the case. I guess if I sold lures I would have to be more attentive to detail, but I don't. Everything gets donated to this or that charity auction to raise money for various causes. |
