Posts: 1495 Location: Brighton CO. | As a kid my Grandparents didn't take me many places when up North one year when the whole family was up we drove to Bond Falls in the U.P., walked around took some pictures went and got a ice cream cone. Well I went out in the boat one day took off my shirt and got burnt. So the next day I stayed off the water. Drove from Eagle River to Sayner stopped for lunch at the Sayner Pub then drove over the public fishing dock on Plum Lake and them stopped in to Pat's Minnow Bucket on the shores of Plum lake. (this was a famous old tackle shop), then zig zagged around Vilas CO. stop at the boat landing on North Twin and up to Land O' Lakes stopped in to some video shop and saw the mount of the Ott/Lapp Hybrid. Asked about how safe to small 12' row boat out on Lac Vieux Desert. Then off to Bond Falls for a ice cream then home. I was going to stop at Rizzo's Resort but it was getting late.

Posts: 1145 Location: Minnesota. | Over the year I subscribe to "Smithsonian" magazine. I save 'em up just for times like this so I go out to my boat w/a comfy lawn chair (we have some nice ones), take my socks off, tilt my big motor up to about 45 deg, put my flat feet on the motor housing and read, all the time getting rocked a bit by passing boats.... It's awesome...till I wake myself up by dropping the mag. .....*grins*

Posts: 105 Location: Alberta Canada | Um the closest I come to taking a break fishing on vacation is come in early for dinner at a restaurant maybe. Not much of a tourist if I go on vacation it’s to fish or hunt

Posts: 497 Location: Northern Illinois | As we’ve gotten older, we usually take a nap break during the day sometime. Sometimes on bright sunny days during the week, we’ll do a little bass fishing. Sometimes you can learn something about Muskies while bass fishing.
