Location: Fond Du lac WI | Hello all i am new to your MB but am a avid musky hunter.
Around 1986 and 87 I went to lake Wabigoon in Ontario. While there we stayed at a resort called Muskybay lodge. Well i have searched the web the last 3 days trying to find this resort in hopes of going back some day, But as of now i can not find this resort. I had heard that there was a bad storm, Tornado like around 1989 or 90 that might have taken down a few lodges.. was wondering if anyone hs seen or been to this lodge and if they would have any info for me plz... thx for any help |

Location: Northwest Chicago Burbs | Did some web searching for you, the best I can tell is that there isnt a MuskyBay resort on Wabigoon. From what I know there are only 3 resorts on the Goon to chose from....and by the way, MuskieFIRST is running an outting on one of them (Indian Point Camp, http://www.indianpointcamp.com) in July of this year (plug plug). The man to ask about the older resorts is Steve Worrall, who might be around this site at some point soon. |

Location: Thief River Falls MN | I may be wrong on this but I believe it may still be there. At least there is one of those blue signs with Muskie Bay Resort on it along HWY 17. If I am thinking correctly, it is on the same road (Muskimerk Rd) as Merkels Camp, which is where we stay. Can't say I've ever seen a Muskie Bay resort boat on the lake, but I never pay much attention to stuff like that. I do remember seeing a resort that was deserted, which was located on the north side of the channel between Wabigoon and Dinorwic. It was set up on a hill looking to the west and I believe all the buildings where white or light colored. It could possibly have been Muskie Bay but I am not sure. Have stayed at both Indian Pt. and Merkels and liked them both. If you like the eastern half of the lake I would recommend Merkels based on my personal experiences.
Hope this helps a little,
