Some guidance please.

I am in the market for a 10 foot + bait casting rod to complement my Tranx 500 spooled with 90 pd Maxcuatro Line. I throw all the usual musky baits 2 - 4 ounces . I am also not sure which taper to use, fast, extra fast or medium . Long distance casting is my thing. I fish Lake of the Woods on the Canadian side.

Does anyone have any suggestions or thoughts? Thanking you in advance for an insight.

The St. Croix Long Ranger is designed for what you describe. It's 8'6", but it's MHF. I would look for that profile in the length you want.

Can’t complain about my savage gear browser. It’s a xxh. Just a thought. I don’t like fast action tips I think there to flimsy. Moderate is better. For hooking the fish IMO.

I got a 10'6" XH from Tackle Industries a couple seasons ago and love it. Casts well, can use the catapult technique on some baits that are weird to throw and still get some distance. Good mix of backbone and flex to keep fish pinned. And figure 8s are a dream - saves my back and knees as I don't have to go down so low to get a good 8. According to the TI site 5/0 sports deals them in Canada. Also telescopes to make transport/storage a bit easier.
