Anyone have or use them with success? Specifically looking at the topwater crankbait looking one.

Probably wont buy one due to cost - but this is a bait I have never really heard of until I saw a video of the Lindners using it.

topwater crankbaits are called wakebaits in the bass swimbait world. Maybe check out the MS Slammer, evergreen noisy dachs, ac plugs, and even a floating swimbait (of whichever profile you feel matches the forage best) from mattlures

Which one did you see, the $278 Pot Smokin Midget or the $350 Grunge? m

Correct. Those pranksters. The smaller Pot Smokin Midget was the one I was curious about specifically. haha

If your not casting a Prankster on a Legend Elite with a Tranx, your not going to catch any fish.

I remember seeing one of those when Jeremy smith did a seminar for I think Thorne and being interested in it. For that price I’ll stick with a hawg wobbler

I was thinking for that price, you could hire a quality guide for a half day.

Yall think it's like a "status thing"? Only sense I can make out of it. That marketing technique works for alot of things I spose.

I had never heard of this manufacturer or there lures before, absolutely stunned at their prices... come on!!

Thing is I really loved the action of the big mike bait.... if it was $80-90 I might consider buying it....

It said there were over 30 steps in build process.... jeez find a way to cut this down to 15-20, put it at a reasonable price and th3se guys would sell 5x more... crazy

I could see paying that price, if you are a collector, and the lure is rare/old, or part of a limited edition from a famous bait maker, or something. But to pay that much and throw it into the lake, and hope like crazy, that it comes back into the boat? I don't think so. I would be so nervous fishing it. Probably only throw to open water with way too heavy of a leader.

Ha, I did not mean to start something here. I think they look like nice baits - I mentioned in my first post that the price is absurd. Was just wondering if anyone has bought one and used it with success. Just have not seen a bait like the one I was interested in - does not mean I am willing to pay that price. Saw it on the last Angling Edge episode for muskies - and I thought the action and bait looked cool. Then found them and saw the price.

The Prankster wake baits are similar to Smoker Tackle SS Shads in shape & action. Have had the most success on the 5.5" SS Shad, but the others are producers too, and the MD's as well.

Or you could show them something they haven't seen before like a old Pflueger Globe or Creek Chub Injured Minnow.
Yes I'm a baby boomer and fish with lures that have been off the market for 50 years.

I think I need to start charging more when I sell my lures because clearly I am way below market value lol

Yep, low priced baits aren't any good and don't catch fish. m
