| I am curious if anyone fishes Crane Lake in MN for musky. I have read that a couple big ones have been caught there, but when I visited my sister and brother in law in Ranier when they lived there, my brother in law said the only thing he knew of folks fishing for were walleyes. Great looking lake, supposedly not much in the way of homes, development. I did get a kick out of the idea that the resort that rents houseboats has folks that will run out a case of beer, gas, etc. if you run out and don't want to pilot that big houseboat all the way back. Kind of like Uber drivers I guess. |

Location: Brighton CO. | I think I heard of large fish caught by a non Muskie fisherman, similar the 50# caught in Round Lake in Polk county Wis. in the late 80's. |

Location: oswego, il | It's a bit of a hike from the vermilion dam to crane with many rapids but I'm sure some make it there. |

| Any other input on Crane Lake? I had this vague idea of renting a house boat for my kids and grandkids, spending time enjoying the lake and hopefully getting in a little fishing. Got to take a boat with you per their rules, might as well be my Pro V. |

Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | Not a muskie destination, but you'd have a blast on a house boat there. Good fishing for walleyes, bass, and pike. |

Thanks. The folks at the resort talked about the walleye and the big pike. The trick will be my grand kids have to be a few years older to enjoy and I have to stay in shape to enjoy. I got the getting older part down pat. |
