That is what all of us at Musky Mission Complete would like to give our twelve Veterans and all our guides and volunteers. We also would like to salute all who donated items for our annual auction and the main event itself. Finally, a salute to those who bid on auction items whether you won or not. All proceeds go directly to support our selected Veterans at our Main Event on Leech Lake. Just a reminder, we take twelve combat Veterans for a three-day all expenses paid musky fishing trip. We could not do this without all of your support.

To give a brief recap of our event, organizers and guides arrived at Grand Vu Lodge, on Leech Lake on September 14th. Guides did some pre-fishing to see if they could find a pattern. Organizers, well…we organized. Mike King caught an incredible 49 incher; a preview of things to come for one of our Vets. Guide Will Walkoviak scored a 40 and board member Jordan Meuleners caught a 38. So a good start to the event. All twelve Vets showed up on the afternoon of the 15th ready to go. After a brief opening ceremony and distribution of many gifts, guide “Papa Joe” Davis gave a great dockside baitcaster/figure 8 demonstration. The Vets then piled in their boats off they went. While quite a few pike were caught and a few muskies where seen, none were boated. So it goes… The next day Veteran Adam Wander caught an incredible 48.25! His very first musky!!! Now, his life only goes downhill from here. Many more were seen, a few were lost, but a good time was had by all. The last day of fishing saw more of the same. Plenty of action, but not much cooperation. That is until Vet Rich Lane caught a beautiful 33.5 incher. This was very special to Rich and everyone was extremely happy for him. Saturday night saw closing ceremonies and awards. A great time was had by all including the best meal of the outing. Our “last night fish fry” exceeded expectations as always.

We would like to individually recognize our donors here. If you see any of these individuals or companies, thank them for their support and think about using their products or service. We would especially like to thank Steve Worrall. Every year he helps us with this auction and allows us to use this site. Thank you Steve!
