I know it's a bit early yet for those of us in states with closed seasons, but where are you starting your season off when it opens? I am thinking a nice fresh SE Wisconsin lake. Maybe for some crappie and gills;) (I need bait ya know) Where is everybody else heading?

I started my season off on Stream X last weekend. Season goes out in March, so it's off to the cave, maybe fish Ohio and definately fish in WV until May.

For the opener, I'm heading up to the most secretive yet most fished body of water in Wisconsin...A Vilas County Lake. For years I've been trying to find maps of it, but you just cant seem to find one.

I'm heading to Kinkaid tonight and will probably spend some time (for the first time) on the toilet bowl this spring. For the southern WI opener, I'm sure I'll be out on Silver. First trip up to northern WI will be for the opener on the Manitowish Chain.

A few MI and WI lakes for the MI/WI boundary opener. Then for the northern WI opener I'll have to see what the water temps are like on the lakes during walleye fishing to determine what lakes I hit.

Wisconsin opener I will be in either bayfield or ahsland county. Walleyes and little skies will be the pursuit. That is a lead in to the big show in Leech lake area.

As always; with my younger brother, in the early morning of opening day, on stone lake of the manitowish waters chain followed by a pre-planned milk run.

Opening Day!!!!! It seems that as the years go by now there are many different opening days for me. I will start this year with a trip down south probably to northeast Iowa or maybe to a lake in northcentral Missouri. The first week of May will find me on one of the Madison area lakes. The middle of May will lead me to Petenwell as well as the border lakes of Michigan/Wisconsin. Memorial weekend finally!!!!! I have had 4 openers already and hopefully it will be an early spring and the lakes in my home area of Oneida/Lincoln counties will be hopping!!! God I love openers!!!!

Checked the book and ,as usual, I will be stuck in walleye hell with some long time clients......but, hey ,they are nice people and thats part of the guiding game

the fact that im costantly thinking of all the big girls I really want to be chasing that day will be hidden from from my customers as I hang minnows for ten hrs.

The WI opener it's the traditional he-man family get together (my side and my wifes side) at my cottage in Phillips. Mainly walleyes, the Polish Palace, and card playing. Second weekend its turkey hunting. Muskies will have to wait till later in the month for our annual LVD outing.
