Posts: 200 Location: Milwaukee, WI | So I’m wondering what people would recommend for their top 10 blade color skirt color combinations. I think I have a decent idea, however will be making multiple blade combinations or single blades of 10 different colors I’m pretty much sticking with that. What does everybody think?

Posts: 761 | Top ten??? Yikes! Silver and black for clear water, orange and black for dirty or stained water, gold or copper blades for flowages. I'll use those same colors at night or low light. Jmo, but I try not to over think colors. Kdawg

Posts: 33 | For me 4 of the 10 would be straight or holo black (w different blade colors). 3 would be black with accent colors like gold / purple or red / firetiger or chart, and 2 would be baitfish colors like walleye / cisco / perch and one would be a louder color like holo red or purple.

Posts: 1418 Location: Brighton CO. | We all have our go colors, what about the tail it's self? Tinsel?, Tube?, marabou?, or real bucktail? or a combination? For a while in the mid to late 90's I stopped using real bucktail and went with marabou and caught more fish, now all these years later when everybody is throwing tinsel should I go back to my real bucktails?

Posts: 200 Location: Milwaukee, WI | One of the issues I’ve been having is finding good bucktail lately. Even when I can open up the packs and see if I’ve got some length sometimes the volume is just not there especially colors such as black. So therefore gone to mostly tinsel. Marabou is an interesting option.

Marabou is an interesting option. Got a bucktail that my nephew's 14 yr old son built this spring. My bucktails (purchased) have been hair or tinsel but this has white marabou on it and it looks really good in the water. No musky yet but couple follows and a 24" walleye ate it.

Posts: 532 Location: NW WI | Bass world loves there peanut butter and jelly combo. I personally like black/blue black/purple combos. But I don't think any1 in the musky world has a purple/peanut butter combo. Just an idea.

Posts: 200 Location: Milwaukee, WI | So here’s the reason why rethinking bucktails at this time. I also want to lighten up the load on my boat. Attachments ---------------- 4BC33B4F-147D-425A-B516-1552F9CCA6D7.jpeg (39KB - 191 downloads)
