Does anyone know anything about fabricating hardware? I'm thinking about brass lips, blades and maybe some other parts. What sort of investment am I looking at? A press and dies, I would think. I have no idea what exactly I would need, or cost. Any help is appreciated.

You can do a lot with basic hand tools depending on quantity. a tin snip set, file and a vise can make you anything at low volume (individual use)

if wanting to go all in, a cad program, laser cutter, punch presses etc. There is a great tool called an iron worker that can handle a bunch of stuff, but not cheap.

here is a large flap tail blade i made with just the above hand tools. Hand drawn, cut out with snips, files and hand hammered. One of a kind.

Nice work, really like the hammer detail.
