Talked with Greg tonight. He was whupped! Got on the water at 11:30 AM, and Kly raised a fish on a Suick. Same bait he caught the fish on Shelbyville in Dec. They fished until 4:30, and the last hour trolled some. Will check in again tomorrow.

KLY scores on that Suick Saturday around noon. A fat 41" Cave Run Ski on a non descript flat! COngrats KLY. Talked to them earlier, and they thought they were gonna cut the trip short, and head back today. I wonder if that fish changed their minds? Will call to see.

got slimed for the first time this year, sweeeet!!!!
Feb. musky fishing is upredictable to say the least. Greg and I left Wednesday night and drove through the night to fish Thursday morning. Here is a breakdown from there
Thursday- started off calm with sporadic sun. Nice day to wash lures and enjoy being on liquid water. We worked a bunch of areas and scoped things out for the next couple of days. We raised one fish and then had to call it quites after I was already sleeping and Greg was about to fall asleep at the wheel trolling in Scott's creek. We did not want to give a house boat a new power plant so we called it a day around 4.
Friday- because we passed out around 630 the night before we were up early. Should have slept in. Cold and then became windy. We washed lures behind the boat most of the day and then casted from 4 till dark. Did not see anything but I was able to make sure my lures got a muddy water bath.
Sat- slept in and got on the water around 10. Started trolling breaklines and then when in warmed up a bit started to cast. Around 12 my favorite suick gets smashed! I am greeted with my first Kentucky ski, a fatttt 41"er. Nice net work Greg!!!!! Finished the day by seeing a mid forty inch fish porpoising in 35degree water????? Stupid creatures!!!! It was a great day with great weather, made the whole trip.
We decided to leave after fishing to get back early so we could both be capable of getting through monday.
I got in at 4am, I hope Greg made it?
Anyways good luck to all going down for the outing in a few weeks, I hope "ya'll" catch some pre spawn piggies. I definitely see why that system has some pigs in it. I will post pics when I finish the roll that is in my camera, good chance it will be when you guys get back from your trip down there.
Later

Always a good time heading somewhere to Ski fish in winter. Yup, I made it...stopped and snoozed for a few hours but finally got here. Weather was pretty good considering what we left and came back home to. Water temps were 34-35 and we were able to use the Alfrey ramp, the turnaround wasnt underwater this time. Good job on the 41" fatty Kly............will let you know when I get my next long weekend, still cant wait until memorial day, will get out again for sure!!
