garmin has come out with a new chip for Minaki and the Winnipeg river. i saw the preview today and it is awesome. digital depth with all reefs marked fron Kenora to Minaki. this should save a few bottom ends and help any of you planning to fish up here.its called the blue chart 6.0. should really help when we are buzzing around in search of the fatty.......crippler

Sure wish that technology had been available when I was fishing that area alot. I smacked a few objects in the river, but was always going slow enough to survive the hit with little damage.

If the GPS programing and topography was generated from the Canadian Provincial Charts it is a "must have" for anyone traveling in the area.
Those charts, with one exception, are unbelievably accurate. Of course that exception was the size of a Vokeswagon Van! Luckily, I found it while using the trolling motor.
