I tried to count the number of people in the room a couple times.  I don't think I ever got above 90 but a bunch of the early arrivals did leave early so maybe we broke 110?

What did everyone think of the new location? Good time?

I thought the swap went well. I barely made beer money, but after having a few I started to give’em away – d’oh. I met some cool people and had a good time. Thanks

The meeting place was nice. I would've enjoyed meeting more people. Name tags with our M1st names would be helpful. Lots of great stuff to look at and lots of stuff at reasonable prices. Too bad I'm such a tightwad! Thanks for putting it together everyone.

I had a great time. Nice facility. I sold/traded more baits than I thought I would have. Glad I went.

It was a good time, that's for sure. I think I laughed off at least 10lbs at some of the things that were happening around me later in the evening. Great to meet some new faces too, along with the ones I already knew.

I concur. The location and setup was great. Lots of great stuff was laying around on all those tables, and there was plenty of room to navigate to see all of it this year.

Of course, the after swap festivities for those that hung on were very enjoyable. Almost made some money on the free TM Tails Vman and I picked up. The ladies sure think that you make a nice bait Todd!

As soon as I figure out how to type I'll be able to answer your question...

Great location.

Do you think they could ad a pool to test baits in for next year?

This was my first time to the Chicago area. Great place to visit but I wouldn't want to live there. Nothing wrong with the City but's to big for me. I'm in the St.Paul area of MN. and the older I get it seems that St.Paul is to big a city for this boy.

That being said, I had a great time the whole weekend. Even if I didn't get much sleep, but whose complaining? Not me. The Expo was well run. Hat's off to Tri Esox and the Local M.I. chapters on a great show.

Eight of us Minnesota Muskie Nuts from both the Twin Cities and N. Metro Chapters headed down for the show. Teck, Happy Hooker,TroyZ,myself and friends who don't do the 'Net came down for the weekend. I was amazed, first time to the city and I knew about 1/4 of the people at the show.

The swap meet was awsome! Great location! Lot's of room and wheeling and dealing to be had. After that 4 of us headed into downtown for a little slice of heaven. Chicago Pizza! Wow, now I know why Chicago pizza is ranked the best. We went to Pizzaria Uno. Couldn't find the place on my own again, but if you know the town, this joint has won awards many times for having the best pizza in the nation. If it really is true I don't know, haven't had any New York Pizza. But as far as I'm concerned it's the best pizza I ever had!

Thanks to all the Chicago folks for their great hospitality.

New york pizza does not hold a candle to chicago style pizza. Don't even waste your time pursueing it.

Next time you boys are here, go to Lou Malnati's or Geno's...much better than Uno's!

Pizza places in Chicago?..Milanos for deep dish, Vito & Nicks for thin crust. Fox's, Chucks, and Barracos all worthy of mention. Chucks also is home of the original Freddie. The others that are mentioned are good..But Vito & Nicks....the best....cold, hot, warm..it doesn't matter...

Well it looks like I have to come back to the expo next year, if only for the pizza. I'm gonna let Happy Hooker know about this. He's a pizza kind of guy. He's the one who was determined to get downtown. Now that I know, I'll give them all a try.

Say what are the best blues joints in town. Do want to keep out of the bad neighboorhoods though. Problem is, I think I'm the only one in the group that loves the Blues so I don't know if I'll ever make it.

The site was great. I did better selling the year before(better table) but swap was a success.I found alot of good deals and sold even a little more. Name tags would be great along with area you are from.I would pitch in 25% if we had some nice name tags made up. We could have our nickname and area we are from on them.It was nice meeting molly baits and I would like to get a few Molly baits if I still can. Fish on, [email protected]

Budy Guy's Legends on Wabash. Don't bother with House of Blues. When I look at their schedule it is always rock bands at hob... Buddy's you can have any of the greats stop by.. There is a place on the north side also..Kimgston Mines I think.. Never been there though. Buddy's is the place to go in my opinion..

Kevin: Thanks for the tip on a Blues joint. Buddy Guy is great! I think he's #2 blues guitarist left alive. who's #1 you ask? It's tough but I gotta go with B.B. King. Sure Buddy Guy is probadly a more veristile player than B.B. as he plays around with distortion and effects, but B.B. can put more feel into a single note bend than most guitarists can get into a 2 hour concert. He plays it so clean and pure. Wow. Great voice too.

Happy Hook! I thought that you might like this thread. How about next year we do Pizza and the Blues along with the Expo? I know your not a great Blues fan but if we could catch Buddy Guy I think you would enjoy it. He can play a mean guitar.

Personal Favorite Chicago Blues joints:

- Buddy Guy's on Wabash (South Loop)- sketchy 'hood at night but kick ass headliners

- Kingston Mines (N. Halsted/Lincoln Park) - very nice neighborhood. Don't bother showing up before 11:00pm

- Blues etc. (Belmont Av.) - safe neighborhood, but not w/out a large gay element

There are dozens more - you can't go wrong.

Well the big thing with Buddy's place is he usually does like 15 night in a row there in January. He brings a bunch of different people out there on different nights to jam with him.. As for BB, saw him in '03.. He was doing his BB King all star tour, Jeff Beck opened for him... Can't get better then that, two of the greatest guitar guys back to back... BB does a lot of talking in his show, on stage for about 90 minutes but I'd say we got 60-65 minutes of him playing..but what the heck he's getting old, I am lucking he still tours and plays as good as he does. His back-up band is great, they just keep on playing in the background while he talks. Only bad part of the show was that Jeff and BB did not do a encore together...

Had a great time at the swap meet!  Fox & Hound and the private room were awesome.  Was good to meet new people and there were so many baits available, you could find almost anything you wanted!  This year more folks seemed to be selling instead of swapping, but still makes for an awesome experience.

Man, I love Jeff Beck. Got to see him and Stevie Ray together up in Columbus, SRV came out and did all this stuff then Beck stepped up and just cooked the place. Be awesome to see him with Buddy. Mr. Guy is every bit an entertainer as well as a class musician. m

There is a bootleg tape floating around with Stevie, Jeff and Buddy. If I remember right quality isn't the best. They were at Buddy's Legend's bar performing after the concert Jeff and Stevie did at the UIC pavilion that night. I will have to look at my tapes and see if I have it. I got a bunch of stuff like that.
