I need to get vacation plans set for this summer. We are looking for nice place to stay in Vilas county. Not looking for 4 Star place, but something decent. The place does not have to be on a lake because I plan on fishing as many lakes as possible. What are your recommendations?

Thanks.

Try the All Seasons Resort on the Flambeau Chain. Great prices, and the owners know alot of spots to hit the water all over the area.
Sorry that is a shameless plug for my soon to be inlaws resort, but it is a great place, and they will put you on some fish.
Their ph # is 715-588-3773
Good lungen,

I don't think they have a website as of right now. If you have kids, there is a great beach right there, and it is a clean resort, with good lakes nearby, as well as the BIG muskies of the Flambeau Chain. They're tough to catch, but there are some biiiiig fish in there.

SharpHooks,

Check out the RiverDale Motel and Resort. They have both fully furnished cabins as well as single rooms with air and cable tv.

They have PLENTY of boat parking and electrical hook-up.

It is located on the Eagle River chain and is a great place to stay due to all the stores and restraunts.

Their phone number is 800-530-0019. Their website is www.rivdale.com

Donna Petkus is the owner and she is sweet as pie.

Give her a call, and tell her I said hello!

Thanks,
Mike Hulbert

For 10+ years we have been going to North Twin Lodge on North Twin Lake, at Phelps, about 11 miles NE of Eagle River. It is the best of all worlds, a great muskie lake, very nice accomodations even for a non-upnorth type of family, great protected boat slips, club house & satillite TV.
It is owned and operated by Tom & Kay Hickson, tele: 715-545-3474. From experience, I especially recommend the last two weeks of June. It is great for families, couples or fishing groups. The lake has a wide variety of structures and over 3800 acres to explore. The lake has a consistant topwater bite which is a major bonus.

Kerecman's fishtrap resort is nice, quiet and on two good musky lakes. The scenery there is quite lovely. The fishing is good too.

Another option to try, check with some of the realtors in Vilas county. They often have listings of private homes that rent out by the week. I've found some real nice places this way and the rates are often better than resort pricing.
