In the last two weeks it was announced that Rhinelander has two new stores coming to town, L&M Fleet Supply and Blain Farm and Fleet. Both state they carry fishing supplies on their web site. Having never been in either, wondering if they carry musky fishing tackle like Mills Fleet Farm does. Kind of wondering how these two stores, along with Tractor Supply, which is already here, will fare in a city of a little over 8,000.

They should open first, moving into a vacant, former Shopko store. Blain's is building from scratch across from the ice arena.

Pamida called it quits shortly after Walmart came to town

Posts: 4080 Location: Elko - Lake Vermilion | L&M is THE Real Man's Candy store ! Love that place. Virginia Mn. store sells guns and rows & rows of fishing and hunting tackle, including Muskie gear. Their service center is awesome.. have had chainsaws, mowers, weed eaters, and power washers repaired many times.

stdevos - 6/28/2021 12:15 PM Blains is junk. Never been a L&M, so that sounds intriguing. Seems weird that Rhinelander is almost completely devoid of a legit dedicated bait shop when its the biggest town/city in Oneida/Vilas. Live bait is offered by several places in Rhinelander but the only "dedicated" bait shop closed after only about a year in business, just not enough folks shopping there. Minocqua and the Musky Shop are an easy drive, so pretty easy to get musky gear from there.

L&M in Hayward is a great store. I would rather shop there than Fleet Farm or Farm and Fleet.

Posts: 2360 Location: Chisholm, MN | L&M started in Grand Rapids, MN where I grew up. Excellent store with great owners. They have a nice variety of muskie lures along with just about anything else you might need for fishing. Hopefully they are going to have guns at your store too. They have a great firearm department.

Don't know about firearms, the press release just touted a wide variety of sporting goods. Was in two Fleet Farms in the past month, both had virtually no ammunition. Plenty of guns, but no ammo. One clerk said she had worked there for over 20 years and had never seen anything like it. Edited by North of 8 7/1/2021 10:06 AM

Posts: 34 | Made my first trip to an L&M last Saturday in Hayward. That store had everything I needed, was in and out for 14 cents......
