| So I read a book a couple of years ago on what fish see in various types of water and for a lot of reasons, red is a color that disappears easily in water - especially dark, stained water. Yet, I've never fished with a musky guide that uses red line.
We've all seen lots of red in some of the most successful and long-standing lure presentations too.
What are your thoughts on red braid?

| i built some spinners with red line a few years back. i could never catch a thing on them. i have some shad raps with red lips on them that i cant catch a thing on.
i have great success with red hooks. in fact just ordered a bunch of red victory jig hooks the other day.
i dont know if they see red better, or not at all. but it is a color that sure seems to have some influence |

Location: Chisholm, MN | I’d throw red cortland if they made it. But it doesn’t matter anyway. But if red shows up as black under water, then it’s probably good because black is probably the most agreed upon color for muskie fishing. |

Location: SE, WI. | Few years back, guys were complaining about the red dye dripping of their line. Next thing you know, many spools go up for sale....BST. Yep, scarfed them up cheap....65-80 lb. PP. Got about 10 spools. Some spools 1,000 yds. Still using them!
Put around 120-200 skis a year in my boat. Half R on the Red. Does it work? ....Yes....does is matter....probably not Maybe will start watching BST;)....anybody?
JD I don’t like it for creature fishing....hard to see line hops;( |
