It is my wife Sue's Birthday today. She is with me at the Tri Esox Show, and considers that a treat, too. How lucky a guy am I? For her Birthday she gets to pick out a few baits, any she likes! Pretty cool to have a friend for a wife who thinks Muskie lures are a cool present.

Happy Birthday Sue!!!!! Make sure you choose carefully. Go for those huge suckers in the back right corner. I forgot the names, but they should be winners for sure.
You may need a morter to cast those puppies though.

Steve, those are some cool paint jobs, I take it red and black were hot colors for you (her?) this year. Have fun! Any word from Brainerd yet?
Good Luck

tyee,

Zach reported that the Nils Master took second by 8/10 of a second to a Strikemaster in the stock auger division, but the Strikemaster was running 75 to 1 oil and 98 octane fuel, which voids the warranty on the motor. The judges said that was acceptable for some reason, though the fuel/oil mix and fuel were not stock.

In secondary testing, the Nils kicked butt winning by a large margin. The hand auger took second, by a very small margin of about a second. Hand operated stop watches were used, just for info sake. We will have comparison videos where the viewer can make their own observations on IcefishingFIRST!

Happy 29th Sue!

Steve, you will like that american hardwood top water. That thing will spin forever, it's like it has bearings.

Thanks to everyone, at the show and on the site, for all the birthday wishes and baits. I chose the baits because the darker colors were what I mostly got my hits on and red/yellow was the surface bait color I got my first (38") last summer! Purple is my favorite color, but most waters up here it blends to darker anyway so leaning toward reds, blacks but with bright blades, and lots of them on some.

Show was fun, saw lots of people from previous shows when I was "manning" the MuskieFIRST booth last year, and met lots of new people, faces/names from the site too. Trying to get time off for the Milwaukee show at State Park as had a great time there last year. Think I passed out over 200 frig magnets?!?!

Thanks again, Sue

Happy B-Day Sue!! My wife and you share the same Birth Day, but I could not talk her into the show. I had to settle with a weekend in NewBuffalo and a nite out on the town.
