This is going to sound stupid, but..... In all of my years, I have little doubt that the Mepps Giant Killer, all chartreusse, has put more fish into my net than any other one bait in one color.
Let's not leave out it's diminutive sibling the Mepps #5.. very effective postfrontal, clear water, early season..
God. You are right! I never threw that #5 much, but my old man did and tagged a lot of fish on the #5 Black Fury. Maybe I got to get one of those back in the box, too. |
