Hi all, my wife gave me a fantastic Christmas present. She presented me with certificate good for one fishing vacation of my choice, all expenses paid. After doing some research, I have narrowed my focus on the northern end of LOTW. Having never fished this area (or for muskies for that matter) I am looking for suggestions as to when is the best time to go. I have heard that the last two weeks of July are good for size and numbers. What is your experience? Any advice is appreciated.
I have fished Lake Champlain extensively for pike and smallmouth but never muskies.

The time you are thinking sounds about right from talking to others here who have gone up there. If you need a place to stay I have heard Billy Sandy's resort is a good one. As I am going to the Musky show on friday I could get his latest brochure and scan & e-mail it to you..

Not a problem. I know a guy that fishes there every year and has gotten some pigs there. He usually takes Billy Sandy out as a guide, plus Sandy has a few other guides that either work out of his camp or he reccomends. I send you the stuff when I get back on friday..

The time period your thinking of going is great, all species are biting and the muskies are going well to, what part of the northern area are you thinkin may be able to help you choose a good location.

First of all I like your wife, and I don,t even know her.The time you are going is excellent, but if you are fishing up there, and you want to catch Muskys, work a guide in as much as you can afford.Doug Johnson, and Bill Sandy are two of the best in that area.Good luck on your trip, and let us know how you did.I will be up at Sabaskong at the same time you are at the Angle.LOTW is my favorite place to be.God,s Country.

Thanks guys. We searched around the web and were leaning towards Witch
Bay Lodge but are open to any and all suggestions. All of your input is greatly appreciated and will definitely be followed up.

Thanks,

I'm willing to take you out and can guide out of the Witch Bay area. I have 86 muskie for 2003 with 4 over 50 inch and a comfortable all weather boat. To see some pics from 2003 my website is http://members.shaw.ca/xtreme_esox - email me at [email protected] if interested.
