what is your favourite jerkbait, how do you fish it, what have you changed to it to get the retrieve you wanted and what produced the most fish? I know it's a long question but I'm sure that everybody can improve their jerkbaits or the way they fish it when a lot of people reply. My original idea was actually to get reviews from magazines but happy hooker gave me this idea. should be fun! []

9" Sledge - weighted with rattles.

For trolling - pull all the factory hooks. Put a 6/0 regular shank treble on the front and middle hangers, leave the back hanger empty. Good hooksets, and much more fish friendly. Awesome walk-the-dog style side to side action.

For casting, add a 5/0 treble on the back hanger.

Awesome bait - hooks well, resilient, good colour selection, and the rattles make a huge difference in off-coloured waters.

I would say now, my overall favorite is an Undertaker, I can make that bait do a hand stand if I want it too.

The Jerko and Squirko are my second go to glide baits, both have a plan and a purpose in my muskie hunting.

Then last but least, the Suick. You cant leave home without one.[;)]

Have to say the Suick, it was the hot bait this summer, where the previous summer Burts were happening.I caught a majority of the fish using and long pull and pause method (did miss some also).
Had some moderate success with the Squirko but only in late fall period, never had a bite or follow all summer?

Lately the Phantom has been scoring some brownie points with me. I can make this bait dance and glide like a wounded baitfish. I'm also finding out it can be finassed with the best of them. Great side to side movement, and looks very realistic on the pause and twitch.

Ranked second on my list would be a suick/bobbie bait. It's a jerkbait that I can always count on producing. I like the weighted models predominately, but the unweighted bobbies can rock the house in the slop.

I also like the Squirko and Weighted Squirrly Burts. The wiggly tail seems to add another dimension to a jerkbait that makes muskies want to eat. I tend to have less follows with these baits and more hookups.

Reef hawgs are pretty fun baits to work also, but I've had a tough time sinking hooks into fish that strike. Maybe it's bad luck or just one of those baits that I need to spend more time with, and work out the bugs with my retrieve.

The must haves in my opinion are suicks, bobbies and phantoms.

Perch Jerko, there is no substitute. Slow and easy that's the ticket.

Ben Remer if you are out there, thanks for showing me this presentation. The Jerko has become by far my most productive lure.

Its got to still be the reef-hawg,but the Undertaker is a very close second. The hawg gets a 1/4oz. for 6" and 3/8oz.for 8" egg sinker inserted up the poop shoot for that low-rid`in tail drag.Gets me more depth/speed variations. The Undertaker is good to roll right out the BOX!and is the easist slider/glider to work!Throw it out and just twitch the handle, side to side like a mother-trucker!Thats pretty much all I own anymore, traded everything else away! Those 2 types do whatever I need out of jerks!Alwys look at whats new though, just in case! today on Pelican Lake in Northern WI, Beav raised all the fish we saw, and had the only hit, all on an Undertaker. Good bait, no matter the conditions.[]

Fish both rivers and lakes. I seem to have better luck on a 6"reef hog in the rivers and a perch phantom seem to get more action in the lake. could it be the color or the action? Phantom is bright with a orange belly and the reef hog is a drap, off brown back with a pale white belly.
